PHOTOGRAPHER:

Omar's life starts in Central America, in 1978. In 1984 he arrives to Los Angeles at the age of 6. Throughout his childhood his interests are drawing, painting and photography. What little number of photo cameras were available to his family are given to him to make him the dedicated photographer of any snapshots desired.
In 1997 he shows interest in film and decides to purchase some analog video editing and filming equipment, which enables him to create some small movie shorts that unfortunately have since been lost. With this new interest in all things Hollywood he decides to attend Santa Monica College with the purpose of transferring to UCLA. Once at Santa Monica College he is asked to attend a photography class in order to go into a movie editing class. Falls in love with photography and decides to pursue his new found passion and make it his life career.
In 2001 he becomes a paid intern for the spanish newspaper La Opinion and is given his own assignment. The job calls for a picture that shows the " new latino ". The experience gained from the small internship, studying photojournalism and from participating in the school paper afford him the experience to become what he is today. An event and portrait photographer located in the South Bay area.
His approach to an event and a portrait session is that of a photojournalist. To create a compelling image that tells a story, each job is approached with creativity and quality in mind.
